OMS football teams win close contests

The Ottawa Middle School football teams keep turning out wins in close games.

The eighth grade won their past two games in overtime. On Tuesday, Ottawa nipped Eudora, 30-28. Last week, Ottawa defeated Baldwin.

The eighth grade is led by quarterback Taylor Graf behind the blocking of Hunter Gossett and Matt Dodd. Hard running has been put in by Kaden Shaffer and Semi Ojeleye has caught several passes.

Ottawa is 4-1.

The seventh grade downed Eudora, 24-0, and lost to Baldwin, 22-16.

The seventh grade has been sparked by running back Joe Rodriguez and blocking from Drake Whalen.

Quarterback Dalton Weidl and receiver Kord Ferguson has had some nice plays.
