Two earn certified nursing educator status

The Neosho County Community College Mary Grimes School of Nursing has announced that Pam Covault, NCCC director of nursing, and Susan Rhodes, NCCC nursing instructor have earned the designation Certified Nurse Educator after successfully completing a certification examination developed and administered by the National League for Nursing.
Covault and Rhodes are two of three Mary Grimes School of Nursing employees earning the CNE designation. Beverly Roush, NCCC assistant director of nursing, also was recognized for the accomplishment recently.
Covault, who has been a nursing instructor on the Ottawa campus for the past 17 years, has recently assumed the director of nursing position at NCCC.
She earned her bachelor’s and master’s of science in nursing and has a clinical nurse specialist certification in adult nursing and nursing education.
Rhodes, who also works on the Ottawa campus, has been an NCCC nursing instructor for the past year. Prior to NCCC, she was an assistant professor of nursing at Dodge City Community College. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the National Honor Society of Nursing. She has earned both her bachelor and master of science in nursing.
