Chamber Image award winner
Michelle Stottlemire, with Peoples Bank, accepts the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce Quarterly Image Award from Melanie Herken, of the chamber, Wednesday at GreatLife Golf & Fitness, 1001 E. Logan St., Ottawa. “[Stottlemire] provides customer service to the residents of Franklin County that exceeds how customer service should be described in a job description,” Herken said. “In dealing with guests, she treats them as family. She takes good pride in knowing guests by their first name. She greets everyone with a smile and a chipper ‘Hello.’ She prides herself on the highest level of guest service.” The goal of the award is to honor people who promote Ottawa as good spokespeople, John Coen, chamber president, said. In the coming year, each quarterly award is expected to have a theme recognizing four different areas of the community. The first quarter will include a person providing public service to the community — police, firefighters, sheriff’s deputies, etc. Someone in the professional field — doctors, lawyers, accountants — is expected to be recognized in the second quarter. The third quarter will recognize someone in health or education services. The fourth quarter will recognize someone in the retail and customer service industry.
