Wellsville volleyball splits league matches

The Wellsville High School volleyball team split Pioneer League matches Tuesday at Central Heights.

Wellsville fell to Central Heights, 25-14, 25-10, and topped Jayhawk-Linn, 25-17, 25-23.

Wellsville coach Eric Evans said Central Heights started off hot and stayed on fire throughout the first match.

The Eagles rebounded for the win over the Jayhawks.

The victory evened Wellsville’s Pioneer League record at 4-4 and 9-19 overall.

Wellsville plays Saturday at the Anderson County Invitational.

The Wellsville pool consists of Fort Scott, Prairie View and Independence.
