A 27-year-old Ottawa man suffered minor injuries when his firearm was negligently discharged about 2:30 p.m. Monday at a residence in the 900 block of South Lincoln Street in Ottawa, according to an Ottawa Police Department report.

The department did not release the man’s name or more details about the incident because of the ongoing investigation.

The case remains under investigation, and it will be forwarded to the city prosecutor for review upon completion, Capt. Adam Weingartner, with the police department, said in an email Tuesday.
