Three OU athletes earn player of week honors

WICHITA — Three Ottawa University athletes were selected players of the week by the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. Volleyball players Chrissie Jeannin and Katie Jensen along with football player Travis Adamson have earned the honor.
This is Jeannin’s third KCAC setter of the week award and second time of being selected player of the week.

This is Jeannin’s third KCAC setter of the week award and second time of being selected player of the week.
Jeannin, a senior setter, recorded 129 assists, 10 kills, two service aces, 26 digs, and five block assists in wins over the University of Saint Mary (3-0), Sterling College (3-1) and Tabor College (3-1). Jeannin averaged 43 assists per match and 11.72 assists per set. Jeannin is ranked 16th in the NAIA in assists per match (10.7) and 37th in total assists (866).
Jensen, a senior defensive specialist, was the defensive specialist of the week. She had 55 digs, five service aces, five assists and two kills. She averaged 18 digs per match and five digs per set in Lady Brave victories.
Adamson, a junior receiver/punter, was named the special teams player of the week. He had a 40.4 punting average with a long of 59 yards in OU’s 38-14 victory over McPherson College. Adamson had two punts inside the 10 and one at the 15. Because of his good punting, Adamson didn’t have a single punt returned by the Bulldogs special teams. He is ranked 22nd in the NAIA in punting yards per attempt (39.2).
