The Ottawa Recreation Commission is set to celebrate its 65 years of service to the community with an event this weekend. 

The organization is planning the event for 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the The Ottawa Community Recreation Center/Goppert Building, 705 W. 15th St.

In addition to recognizing its more than six decades in Ottawa, the event, which will feature food and games for families, also will celebrate the one=year anniversary of the Goppert building.
