OU soccer set for key matches

WINFIELD — The match both Ottawa University soccer teams have circled on the schedule has arrived. It is showdown day in Salina between the Ottawa and nationally-ranked Kansas Wesleyan squads.
The women have been rivals for several years, while the conference has been dominated by the Kansas Wesleyan men for the past few seasons.

The women have been rivals for several years, while the conference has been dominated by the Kansas Wesleyan men for the past few seasons.
The Braves (9-4, 4-0) and Wesleyan enter today’s 8 p.m. match undefeated in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Lady Braves (3-1) need a victory to remain in the hunt for a regular season title as Wesleyan is undefeated.
The Ottawa squads are coming off a sweep of Southwestern College Wednesday in Winfield. The men won 4-0 and dominated play with a 32-6 advantage in shots and 13-3 in shots on goal. Keeper Drinnan Sante had three saves.
The women notched a 2-0 victory.
The men had goals from Robert Rodriguez, Ryan Wohlgemuth and Keaton Heather.
The women’s goals came from Lauren Whitney and Sawyer Scheufele.
