BEHIND THE WHEEL: This one has your name on it

By LINDA BROWN, Behind the Wheel

This week we’re on the road with a 2010 Coachmen Catalina 22FB travel trailer from Crist Auto and RV Sales, I-35 and K-68 highway.

Pretty to look at inside and out, this lightweight home-away-from-home has a wood frame construction. That makes it a little heavier than some travel trailers but also a higher quality that will give you years and years of comfortable, durable pleasure.

The underbelly is fully enclosed and heated, and the six-gallon water heater features a direct start ignition, meaning no more waiting for hot water.

The seamless rubber roof has a 12-year warranty and 3/8-inch roof decking, making it a full walk-on roof.

Superlube™ axles allow for fast and easy lubrication and the fender skirts are polished aluminum. The radial tires feature E-Coat wheels.

The aluminum siding has two-tone exterior side metal accents — all adding up to a very pretty exterior package.

This particular Catalina has the Aspen Sage interior which is both rich and peaceful looking.

While the Catalina 22FB will sleep six, it’s really better purposed as a get-away for two.

The walk-around master queen has a ton of under-the-bed storage and outside accessible pass-through storage for larger items like lawn chairs, water rafts and fishing poles.

A quilted residential comforter, pillow shams and headboard are standard features.

The rear located full bath features a tub, shower, wall shelving, a full size mirrored medicine cabinet and a huge storage closet with a rod for hanging clothes.

A marine style, foot-flush commode and vanity sink, with rich wood appointments complete the surprisingly spacious bath.

The dinette is generous and makes into a sleeper for overnight guests. A large picture window over the dinette provides lots of natural light and an excellent spot for people watching on a lazy day.

The kitchen is as well-appointed as you’d expect from a travel trailer wearing the popular Coachmen RV name.

The wall-recessed refrigerator and top freezer are just the right height and require virtually no bending or stooping.

The three-burner range also has an oven, range hood and wall recessed microwave.

There is lots of drawer space, upper cabinet storage and generous storage under the sink.

The sofa also makes into a sleeper.

There’s an AM/FM/CD radio and antenna with marine quality outside speakers and an iPod docking port.

The exterior is pre-wired for cable or satellite and, naturally, there’s an awning for quick shade and a sunny day.

Along with your purchase of this, or any other Coachmen travel trailer or RV, you’ll receive a free one-year membership in the Coachmen Owners Association.

You’ll get exclusive discounts at campgrounds, theme parks and fuel stations, along with a 24/7 concierge service so you can find and buy what you need, often at big discounts.

This Catalina 22FB has a MSRP of $19,079 but you’ll find it on sale this weekend at Crist Auto and RV Sales for $15,985.

Come on out and take a look; this one’s got your name all over it.
