Morningstar granted diversion

LAWRENCE (AP) — Douglas County prosecutors have granted a diversion to Kansas basketball player Brady Morningstar after his arrest for driving under the influence.

The 23-year-old Morningstar also was fined $500 as part of the diversion sentence for his Oct. 3 arrest, which included charges of speeding and failing to keep his car in a single lane.

Under the agreement, the charges are put on hold for 12 months and will be dismissed if Morningstar completes the term without further infractions. Otherwise, legal action resumes.
