Deal likely to follow no contest plea in child sex case; prison time urged

By DOUG CARDER, Herald Staff Writer

A 37-year-old Quenemo man likely will face prison time after pleading no contest to a charge of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

A jury trial had been set to begin Oct. 24 in Franklin County District Court for David Louis Wadkins Jr., who faced one count of aggravated criminal sodomy and two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, stemming from the sexual assault of a Franklin County teenage girl. Wadkins was arrested Nov. 15, 2010, in Osage County on a warrant. Franklin County Undersheriff Steve Lunger previously said the parent of a 16-year-old Franklin County girl reported the incidents to sheriff’s officers that September.
