Stranger invites student into vehicle

By The Herald Staff

A 12-year-old girl reported a stranger invited her into his vehicle after school Thursday.

The man was described as white, in his late 50s to early 60s, heavily built and wearing glasses. He was waiting outside Lincoln Elementary School near a tan mini-van, according to a police report.

The child did not get in the van, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Franklin County Crime Stoppers at (888) 311-8477 or 911 and ask to speak to an officer.
