Incumbent sheriff nabs nearly 69 percent of vote

Anderson County Sheriff Scot Brownrigg won a second term Tuesday night, receiving nearly 69 percent of votes over Republican challenger Paris Stahl.

Brownrigg received 2,428 votes. Stahl received 1,102, according to the Anderson County Clerk’s Office.

Brownrigg, 40, started in the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office in 1995. He was a police officer with the Louisburg Police Department and a teacher in the Anderson County school district before running for sheriff in 2004.

He previously said his top issue was providing the highest quality law enforcement coverage for everyone in the county.
