BEHIND THE WHEEL: Enjoy the good life in a brand new RV

If a need for luxury has been the one obstacle keeping you away from owning an RV, your excuse just ran out.

This week we’re on the road in a brand new 2010 Brookstone 366RE fifth-wheel from Crist Auto and RV Sales, I-35 and K-68 highways.

The interior of this home-on-the-road is absolutely incredible.

The first thing you’ll notice is the custom hickory cabinet doors and stiles.

The kitchen counter tops are DuPont Corian and feature a residential style sink with Corian covers to extend countertop space.

You’ll be the envy of the campground with a 30-inch convection oven/microwave and a 22-inch conventional oven as well. The refrigerator is generously sized but if you require more space a side-by-side option is available.

There’s even a wine rack and goblet holder.

One of the pull-out pantries boasts a hardwood maple butcher-block top.

The dining area features a hardwood dining table and four chairs. The tabletop extends to accommodate a fifth dinner guest.

The living area boasts a sofa with the magic night sleep system with a convenient remote that unfolds the sofa and inflates the mattress at the touch of a button.

Richly appointed frosted glass cabinet doors in the dining and living room areas add a classy touch to the elegance of the area.

His and her recliners are tucked away, yet are perfectly located to watch the standard 42-inch HDTV, or gaze at the Dimplex fireplace tucked neatly under the entertainment center. The TV slides down behind the fireplace when not in use or when you want to enjoy the view from the rear window.

The touch of a button slides the TV back into place when it’s time to watch your favorite television show or Sunday afternoon football.

A designated desk space with a Corian desktop makes it easy to keep track of your laptop, appointment calendar or travel brochures marked with you next destination.

Solar reflective mirror finish windows block out 96 percent of UV rays, protecting your investment, as well as your privacy.

The master suite is four-star luxury all the way.

The residential queen size pillow top mattress has storage underneath. A king size bed is available and, if chosen, will still leave plenty of room for the convenience of two nightstands.

The spacious nine-drawer dresser and two corner-hutch storage spaces provide lots of room for fold-up clothing and linens.

The gigantic wardrobe has dual hanging rods, a cedar lining and shoe storage.

The armoire is ready for your stackable washer/dryer or may be used to store more bulky items.

Above the dresser is a 19-inch LCD HD TV, perfect for late night TV watching.

The bathroom is a dream featuring a roomy one-piece fiberglass shower with a resting bench and hand-held shower wand.

Did I mention this Brookstone has a central vacuum system?

The generous pass-through storage area houses a third LCD HD TV on a swing-out arm for outdoor television watching under the electric awning.

This Brookstone 366RE was just delivered to the Crist Auto and RV Sales lot this week and is the first of its kind.

On sale for $56,985 you have to see this RV to truly appreciate the attention to detail and luxurious appointments that are going to pamper someone like a king and queen.
