Multiple vehicles hit deer, calf over weekend

It was a weekend for deer versus vehicle collisions — and in one incident calf versus vehicle.

Four travelers driving through the county reported hitting deer, while one reported hitting a calf, according to reports from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Reports included:

• Stephanie Chambers was driving just after 6 p.m. Saturday on Kingman Terrace when her vehicle struck a deer. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.

• Lorenda Rodgers, Wellsville, was northbound at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday on K-33 when her vehicle struck a deer.

• George Bolling Jr. was southbound just after 7 p.m. Saturday on I-35 when his vehicle struck a deer.

• Edward Thompson Jr., Ottawa, was westbound after 1 a.m. Sunday on K-68 just when his vehicle struck a deer. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.

• Roy Day was eastbound just before 6:30 a.m. Monday in the 2800 block of John Brown Road when his vehicle struck a calf in the road. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.
