By many accounts the U.S. economy is rebounding with a slow but steady improvement.

So far, though, that improvement doesn’t include employment levels, which dropped to a near 30-year high, 10.2-percent jobless rate. That rate may not have peaked yet. Economists estimate the jobless rate may hit 11 percent by mid-2010. If that projection becomes a reality, it will be the highest post World War II-unemployment rate. It is certainly not a record anyone wants to see broken.
