Report: Meat, beer stolen in weekend break-in at Guy & Mae’s restaurant

By The Herald Staff

Police are investigating a break-in and theft of meat, beer and other items from a popular Williamsburg restaurant over the weekend.

Guy & Mae’s Tavern, 119 W. William St., Williamsburg, was broken into sometime between Sunday and Monday, according to a report from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Undersheriff Steve Lunger said the suspect or suspects gained entry to the restaurant through a padlocked window on the west side of the building and took meat, beer, quarters and cigarettes.

Estimated loss was less than $5,000, the sheriff’s report said.
