OU women can't find shooting range in loss

OLATHE — The Ottawa University women’s basketball team could not drop the ball through the hoop Tuesday in its 85-54 loss to MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe.

Ottawa shot 18 of 65 from the field for 27.7 percent, while MidAmerica canned 53 percent of its shots. The Lady Pioneers dominated the inside with a 40-20 advantage.

The Lady Braves were down by 12 at the half, 35-23, but couldn’t get any closer to the Pioneers.

Ottawa had three players in double figures led by Misty Stone’s 16 points and eight rebounds. Both Mallory Mueller and Paige Gibson had 10 points. Myah Sprew led Ottawa with nine boards.

Ottawa (1-3) plays Friday and Saturday in the Baker Classic in Baldwin City. Ottawa plays 5:30 p.m. Friday against Benedictine and 3 p.m. Saturday against Baker.

MidAmerica Nazarene (85) — Tiegreen 10, Rexroth 20, Schwab 3, Meek 8, Malone 17, Sprague 12, Chisam 3, Stockton 2, Cunard 6, Hill 4.
