OHS boys soccer players receive honors

The Ottawa High School boys soccer team had three players selected to the all-league teams and five on the 4-1A Central Kansas Soccer Coaches Association all-region squads.

Senior midfielders Braden Ward and Sean Cahill were first-team Frontier League and all-region selections. Junior defender Nathan Ward was a second team all-league and all-region selection.

Senior defender Shane Steelman and junior midfielder David Wilson were second team all-region picks.

Ward led Ottawa with seven goals and seven assists. Cahill had six goals and three assists. Steelman and Wilson both scored four goals. Wilson also had three assists.

Ottawa also was selected by the KSCA for the team sportsmanhip award for 4-1A.

The Cyclones finished 7-10, falling to Spring Hill in penalty kicks in the first round of regional play.
