Winter weather advisory in effect until 6 p.m.

By The Herald Staff

A mix of snow and rain could cause problems for drivers today.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Franklin County until 6 p.m.

Rain and snow is expected throughout the day, with accumulation up to 1 inch, the weather service reports.

The snow could come down hard enough to make roads slick and slushy, the weather advisory said. The roads could become hazardous and visibility could be limited.

Temperatures are expected to reach a high of about 38, and a low of about 33.

Light snow and rain is expected to continue overnight and into Tuesday. Showers are possible throughout the week.
