Pastor’s theft trial begins today

A local pastor who pleaded not guilty to felony theft earlier this year will face a three-day jury trial set for today.

A trial for Robert Kenton Mathews, Ottawa, who is accused of stealing a collection of gold coins worth about $6,305 from an elderly Ottawa man, was scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at the Franklin County District Court at Third and Main streets, Ottawa.
