ALPHA DELTA KAPPA

Sigma Chapter Alpha Delta Kappa teacher’s sorority met Oct. 13 at City Hall for a soup supper with Patty Nelson and Bev Bird hosting.  Following dinner, President Lila Reekie conducted the business meeting, which was opened with the ADK prayer by Bonnie Walz.  

Roll call of  “Favorite Fall Activity” was answered by 14 members.

Minutes of the September meeting were presented by recording secretary, Janet Radcliffe.

Treasurer’s report was presented by Therese Payne.

Historian Flo White reported that the Historian’s book has been checked in to the State Historian Center.

Thank you notes were read from Nancy Thompson and Barb Corder.

Vicki Hall told of the needs for the 2010 Franklin County Literature Festival.

Lila and JoAnn Duvall worked the ADK booth Sept. 26 at the Renaissance Festival, Bonner Springs.

Various plans were made to celebrate October ADK Month in area buildings.

The altruistic project generated $110 to be presented to Franklin County Cancer Society. Canned fruit and other non-perishables were collected for Hope House.

The Nov. 10 meeting was scheduled to be hosted by Liz Smith, Bonnie Walz and Lisa Fangman.

The following others were present: Virginia Cook, Claire Davis, JoAnn Duvall, Barb Engel, Sharon Schnieders and Liz Smith.
