Bringing Home The Harvest

Sandi and Ralph Ferguson work together Oct. 19 at Beachner Grain in Richmond. The two have worked together for 17 years at the grain elevator. They were married on top of the elevator in 1993. “We’re (Beachner Grain’s) only mom-and-pop outfit,” Ralph Ferguson said. An unseasonably wet summer and fall caused record crop yields but also made it difficult for farmers to harvest many of their crops.
