Lady Braves fall to Avila

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Ottawa University women’s basketball team fell behind by 15 points in the first half and never made a serioius run at Avila University Tuesday in Kansas City, Mo.

Ottawa came as close as eight in the second half and ended up falling 60-51 to Avila.

Ottawa came as close as eight in the second half and ended up falling 60-51 to Avila.

The Lady Eagles rolled to a 37-22 halftime lead. Ottawa faced a double-digit deficit until coming within eight late in the game.

Ottawa was led by Amber Ramsey’s 17 points. Shauna McClure finished with 10 points.

The Lady Braves (2-6) play 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Lawrence against Haskell.
