OLEN EARL MARCONNET

Olen Earl Marconnet, age 79, of Wellsville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at the Wellsville Retirement Community.  It was Olen’s wish to be cremated, and a memorial service will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at the Wellsville Retirement Community.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Olen Marconnet Memorial Fund and sent in care of Wilson’s Funeral Home, PO Box 486, Wellsville KS 66092.

Olen Earl Marconnet was born July 13, 1930, in Imperial, Neb., the son of William Edward and Clara (Fakes) Marconnet.  Olen served in the U.S. Navy in Japan as a Yeoman Second Class and worked in advanced silver-smithing as well. On May 23, 1951, he married Valoise Mae Creech.  She survives.  Olen worked most of his life as a carpenter.
