12/12/12 baby’s well-timed arrival

12/12/2012

Kyle and Heather Foster, Ottawa, hold their newborn son, Cooper James Foster, Wednesday at Ransom Memorial Hospital, 1301 S. Main St., Ottawa. Cooper was born at 7:43 a.m. Wednesday — 12/12/12 — by planned Caesarean section, weighing 6 pounds, 4 ounces and measuring 19 inches long. The baby was the only birth at Ransom on the last consecutive date for the next 89 years (when calendars will hit Jan. 1, 2101 — 1/1/01). Heather Foster said the noteworthy date would be a good way to remember the occasion. Cooper joins an older brother Blaine, 5, in the family. Kyle Foster said Blaine was very excited to be a big brother. The second-time dad said Cooper had been pretty content all day and was napping during the afternoon. “He hasn’t really fussed except when he was born,” Heather Foster said.
