President orders flags lowered after mass shooting at school

WASHINGTON — Following the deadly mass shooting Friday at a Newtown, Conn., elementary school, President Obama ordered flags lowered to half-staff.
A statement from the White House noted the move “as a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence” at the school, which left dozens dead, mostly children.
