Metro's treys down CH girls

Metro Academy hit seven treys out of its 17 made field goals Friday in handing the Central Heights High School girls a 44-36 loss at Central Heights.

Central Heights connected on 16 field goals, but only one trey.

“They were able to shoot the ball better behind the arc and that was the difference in the game,” Central Heights coach Scott Lane said. “We did a great job of running our half-court offense and did a great job of blocking out.

“This team is definitely getting better each and every game and I look forward to seeing what this team can do after Christmas break.”

Sydney Meyer paced the Vikings with 12 points.

Central Heights (36) — Erhart 7, Kraus 6, Stegner 2, Markley 7, Meyer 12, Hayward 2.

Metro (44) — S. Spani 5, Palmer 16, T. Spani 8, Davis 15.

Herington 39, West Franklin 23

HERINGTON — Free throws proved to be the difference Friday in West Franklin’s 39-23 loss to Herington in Herington.

Herington shot 22 free throws to West Franklin’s eight. The game was close through three quarters. Herington pulled away in the fourth quarter.

West Franklin trailed 26-19 at the end of the third quarter.

The Falcons play tonight at Lyndon.
