Falcons, Eagles fall on the road

LYNDON — The West Franklin High School girls basketball team was forced to foul late against Lyndon, which pushed a close game to double digits.

The Falcons were within four points with 1:47 left in the game.

“We had to foul to get possessions and they made their free throws down the stretch,” West Franklin coach Kyle Conley said. “We were in foul trouble all night and that did not help our cause.”

West Franklin and Lyndon were tied 13-13 at halftime. The difference was free throws. West Franklin hit 2-of-13, while Lyndon made 14 charities.

West Franklin plays Jan. 4 at Chase County.

WINCHESTER — Consistent scoring has been a problem for the Wellsville girls.

The Eagles scored 11 points in the second half of their 53-26 loss Tuesday to Jeff North in Winchester.

“We played well the first half and got the Navinskey girl in foul trouble,” Wellsville coach Brock Campbell said.  

“The second half we were not able to stay with them and again we had trouble scoring.”
