Christmas trees’ drop spot
A pile of white pine Christmas trees sits Wednesday afternoon in the northeast corner of the east parking lot at Orlis Cox Sports Complex, Beech Street and K-68, Ottawa. The City of Ottawa designated the asphalt parking lot on the east side of the complex as the drop-off site for live Christmas trees. Signs are now posted to direct people to the proper site. The trees must be stripped of decorations and free of plastic before being dropped off, the city said in a news release. The public should take the trees as far northeast on the lot as possible, the release said. City crews will remove all trees beginning Jan. 14.
