New judge in sheriff's court case

Jeff Curry’s first court appearance is expected to proceed as planned Wednesday morning, but with a new judge.

Senior Judge John E. Sanders, El Dorado, now will preside over the case in which Curry, the Franklin County sheriff, faces a felony charge of interference with law enforcement and a misdemeanor charge of official misconduct. His first court appearance is set for 11 a.m. Wednesday in Franklin County District Court, 301 S. Main St., Ottawa.
