Longtime Ottawan to succeed sitting ORC board member

A retired Santa Fe Railroad employee appears to have the inside track to become the City of Ottawa’s next representative on the Ottawa Recreation Commission’s board of directors.

After interviewing three candidates at its study session Monday, Ottawa city commissioners reached a consensus to recommend Richard Burgoon, 63, for the position, Leslie Quillen, executive assistant to the city manager, said.
