Suspect appears to escape after high-speed chase through county

Franklin County Sheriff’s officers helped the U.S. Marshal’s Service comb the county’s back roads Wednesday morning for a suspect from the Richmond area who led authorities on a high-speed chase in his green pickup.

“A federal agency was involved in a pursuit that started in the Richmond area, and they asked for our assistance,” Jeff Richards, Franklin County sheriff, said. “I believe the U.S. Marshal’s Office was trying to serve a warrant.”
