Former prosecutor implicated in sheriff court case leaves Johnson County post

Franklin County’s former chief prosecutor has resigned from the Johnson County Attorney’s Office and intends to go into private practice, her attorney said Friday.

Heather Jones, who resigned as Franklin County attorney in May 2012 to accept a position as head of the sex crimes and child abuse division for the Johnson County Attorney’s Office, Olathe, is no longer employed with that agency, a district attorney’s office spokeswoman confirmed Thursday afternoon.
