City awaiting compensation study

Ottawa city commissioners are several weeks away from learning how the city’s compensation packages stack up against other municipalities and private-sector employers in the region.

City employees have completed job analysis questionnaires, which have been forwarded to St. Louis-based CBIZ Human Capital Services, Melissa Fairbanks, the city’s human resources director, told city commissioners Monday. The city contracted with CBIZ in late March to conduct a comprehensive compensation study for $30,250.
