Vets to be honored Friday

By The Herald Staff

BALDWIN CITY — Baldwin High School is set to honor military veterans this week during its varsity football game.

During its game Friday against Ottawa High School, Baldwin plans to honor servicemen and women for its third annual BHS for Vets.

“Since our towns are so close, I would like to extend an invitation to all Ottawa veterans as well,” Clay Thomas, a Baldwin senior and vice president of the school’s Patriots Club, said. “Admission is free for the veterans, who are encouraged to wear something that represents their [military] branch.”

Veterans will be honored for their service at halftime of the game, Thomas said.
