False identity points to brother

By The Herald Staff

A 23-year-old Ottawa man, who was wanted on a City of Ottawa warrant for failure to appear in court, gave Ottawa police officers his 18-year-old brother’s name when he was pulled over for a traffic stop about 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of South Poplar Street in Ottawa, Ottawa police said.

C.J. Whitacre was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of driving under the influence (with refusal of a preliminary breath test), transporting an open container, driving without a license and making a false report in connection with the Tuesday night incident, as well as on the City of Ottawa warrant, according to a Franklin County Jail booking report.
