Virgil O. Foust, 81, Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

Cremation is planned with a celebration of life service set for May 16, 2015, in Ottawa. Inurnment is set for Larue Cemetery, Rogers, Arkansas.

Virgil was born Monday, Dec. 25, 1933, in Cordell, Oklahoma, the son of Dennis and Dorthy (Sharrock) Foust.

He lived in Lawrence, Kansas, from 1954 until moving to Rogers, Arkansas, in 1976. In 2006, he moved to Ottawa where he made his home until his death.

Virgil graduated from Mountain View High School, Mountain View, Oklahoma, with the class of 1952.

He worked as a police officer in Lawrence, Kansas, for 10 years, and as a mechanic in Lawrence and Rogers, Arkansas, for 15 years. He was a real estate agent for 20 years selling mostly undeveloped land in Arkansas and Missouri.

Virgil was united in marriage with Betty Freeman May 28, 1978, in Arkansas. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his six children, Ruth Sneegas of Lawrence, Dennis Foust of Rogers, Arkansas, Linda Bignall of Lawrence, Rex D. Foust of Rogers, Arkansas, Rory Freeman of Rogers, Arkansas, and Susan Freeman of Ottawa; two sisters, Norma Morris of Thayer, Kansas, and Nancy Martin of Altus, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Curtis and Rex Foust; and two sisters, Mona Alexander, and Lillian Haws.
