Runs have not come easy for the Lady Braves in the second half of March.
In its last six games, the Ottawa University softball team has scored three total runs. All of those games have been losses, three of which were shutouts, coming after the Lady Braves had started the month 8-1.
Ottawa (16-14, 0-3 KCAC) looks to snap the skid, and gain its first conference win 2 p.m. today in a home doubleheader against Bethany College (13-17, 1-2 KCAC).
The Swedes have had their fair share of good and bad streaks this season. Since starting the season 5-0, they are 8-17 in their last 25 games. Offensively, though, Bethany has had recent success. They are averaging seven runs per game in their last 10 games.
Over the weekend, Ottawa managed just two hits in a weather-shortened doubleheader at Friends University. The Lady Falcons won 8-0 in five innings in Game 1, and the second game was postponed with no makeup date scheduled as of Monday.
Kori Lacey, freshman outfielder, and Kate Christian, junior infielder, knocked the lone hits for Ottawa.
