Sheriff’s Office Arrests

• 9:43 a.m. Wednesday, Ransom Memorial Health, 1301 S. Main St., Eric Chapman, 31, Ottawa, was arrested for battery on a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct, after an incident at the hospital.

• 2:23 p.m. Wednesday, Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center, 226 S. Beech St., a 15-year-old Ottawa boy on a Franklin County warrant for probation violation.

• 8:28 p.m. Thursday, 3700 block of Old U.S. 59, Isaac Carter, 23, Ottawa, on suspicion of driving while suspended, no proof of insurance, and possession of marijuana, after being stopped for a traffic infraction.

• 11:21 p.m. Thursday, 2600 block of I-35, Cheryl Downey, 42, Wichita, on suspicion of possession of marijuana, after being stopped for a traffic infraction.

• 5:35 p.m. Wednesday, 600 block of North Cedar Street, Angel Powell, 46, Ottawa, on a City of Ottawa warrant.

• 8:49 p.m. Wednesday, 900 block of South Burroughs Street, Kyle Morris, 21, Ottawa, on suspicion of battering a 35-year-old Ottawa man.

• 8:42 a.m. Thursday, 1500 block of South Elm Street, Matthew Hayes, 38, Ottawa, on a Jefferson City warrant.

Incidents

• 2:30 p.m. Thursday, 900 block of South Cypress Street, Brenden Robbins, 21, Ottawa, and Abigail Richardson, 21, Williamsburg, on suspicion of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, after being stopped for a traffic violation, a sheriff’s report said. Both were issued a notice to appear and released.

Thefts

• 10:52 a.m. Wednesday, 4700 block of Delaware Road, Pomona, a 55-year-old Pomona woman reported an unknown person used her personal information to obtain and use credit cards. Total loss was $322.22.

• 1:59 p.m. Thursday, 4300 block of Shawnee Terrace, a 49-year-old Wellsville man reported someone fraudulently used his credit card information.

Accidents

• 7:25 a.m. Wednesday, 2200 block of Old U.S. 50, Ottawa, a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Levi Arnett, 28, Ottawa, was southbound on U.S. 50 when it struck a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Victor Mitchell, 66, Ottawa. Mitchell reported back pain but declined an ambulance, a sheriff’s report said.

• 12:19 a.m. Thursday, 3600 block of Tennessee Road, a 2016 Ford Explorer driven by Blaine Grossoehme, 46, Baldwin City, was northbound when it struck an owl that attempted to fly across the road.

• 7:48 a.m. Wednesday, 500 block of South Main Street, a report of domestic battery between a 30-year-old Garnett man and a 39-year-old Ottawa woman is under investigation.

• 1:14 p.m. Wednesday, 800 block of North Mulberry Street, a 16-year-old Missouri resident was taken into protective custody.

• 11:49 a.m. Thursday, East Ninth Street, received a report that a 10-year-old Ottawa youth was the victim of a sex offense, and the case is under investigation.

• 7:15 p.m. Thursday, 600 block of North Birch Street, report of a domestic disturbance between a 30-year-old Ottawa man and a 25-year-old Rantoul woman is under investigation.

Thefts

• 10:53 a.m. Wednesday, 100 block of East Second Street, items were reported stolen from a business by a known suspect.

• 11:12 p.m. Wednesday, 1600 block of South Hickory Street, a 26-year-old Ottawa man reported that an unknown subject stole his bicycle.

• Tuesday: 300 block of Main Street, suspicious activity; 1000 block of Poplar Street, public assist; 200 block of Main Street, assist other agency; 700 block of Main Street, animal complaint; 700 block of Main Street, public assist.

• Wednesday: 300 block of Main Street, fight.

Ottawa Fire Department

• 6:13 p.m. Friday, 600 block of North Locust Street, unauthorized burning.
