The Franklin County Farm Bureau Association will honor two area residents with complimentary memberships for 2018. Don Stottlemire and Justin Hobbs were selected for their support of agriculture.

Stottlemire is currently president of Lake Region RC&D and owns a farm in Franklin County. He served as a county commissioner for 14 years and was named as the “Kansas County Official of the year” in 2014. Don has been the president of the Lake Region RC&D since 2008 and the State RC&D president since 2012. He has served on many councils and boards in Franklin county including the Franklin County Planning Board, Franklin County Leadership Council, Franklin County Food Policy Council, Franklin County Building Commission and the Franklin County Economic Development Board. He was introduced at a recent Ag Week coffee at the Farm Bureau office on First Street and presented with a free membership.

Hobbs is vice president of Patriot’s Bank in Princeton and has roots in agriculture. He is also a partner at Hobbs Cattle Company with his wife, Kaleigh, and his parents, Don and Ginger. At the bank, Justin has been dedicated to helping the next generation of ag producers attain their goals. Justin’s favorite meetings are those where he gets the opportunity to help a producer with strategic planning and forecasting programs, rotations and budgets. Justin is happy to give back to the area that gave so much to him growing up and also to raise his daughter, Brynn, on the farm.
