McConnell Machinery Co., 3313 Nebraska Terrace, Ottawa, will be combining the Ottawa store with its Lawrence location, 1111 E. 23rd St., a company official said. The last day of operations in Ottawa will be Wednesday.

It was announced in early June that KanEquip, Inc., a Wamego-based company, had agreed to acquire Ottawa’s McConnell Machinery Co. location and the Case IH territory.

Deedee Erlacher, owner, said McConnell will work out of one location in Lawrence with Kubota being their main line. She said McConnell has operated its Ottawa store since 1991 and her grandfather started the company in 1936 with a store in Wellsville. Three generations of the McConnell family have been involved in the daily operations of the company.

Erlacher said McConnell Machinery is not going away, just merging into one location.
