The United Way of Franklin County is organizing the grab-n-go lunches for USD 290 students for Friday and Friday, April 17.
District employees are not working on those days.
Meal distribution will be at the same sites where students are currently picking up lunches. There will not be rural deliveries on those days, but lunches for rural students will be available at Sunflower Elementary.
Lunches for 1,200 students are being provided by area churches, United Way officials said.
Volunteers stepped up to fill the void for this project, but more volunteers are needed for others, officials said.
To volunteer, call Leigh Hanson at (785) 418-2015.
