Arrests


• 7:28 p.m. July 18, 1300 Thomas Road, Prince Dillard, 40, Ottawa, was arrested and released in connection with driving while suspended and no proof of liability insurance. Dillard was issued a notice to appear.


• 6:46 p.m. July 18, 305 S. Main St., Kodie Smith, 27, Eudora, was arrested on a Franklin County warrant for failure to appear


• 9:36 a.m. July 18, 3900 block Interstate 35, MM 193, Ottawa, Della Richardson, 40, Lenexa, was arrested and released on a notice to appear for driving while suspended after being stopped for a traffic infraction.


• Unknown time July 18, 2300 block of US-59 highway, an 18-year-old Garnett woman was traveling north when a vehicle believed to be driven by Chase Porter, 23, Ottawa turned in front of her causing a collision. Gray's vehicle went into the ditch and the other vehicle fled the scene. Porter was later found near the vehicle in the 3100 block of Rock Creek Road. Porter appeared to be intoxicated. Porter was arrested on three Franklin County warrants: DUI, DWS, TOC and failing to stop for an accident.


• 1:18 p.m. Sunday, 400 block of Oak Street, Ottawa, Raymond Ott-Jensen, 31, Ottawa, was arrested on a Franklin County warrant for criminal threats.


• 3:10 a.m. Sunday, 305 S. Main Street, Ottawa, Sebastion Free, 26, Ottawa, was arrested on a Franklin County warrant for failure to appear.


• 1:01 p.m. Tuesday, 305 S. Main Street, Ottawa, James Joseph Mauszycki, 61, Ottawa was arrested on Franklin County failure to appear warrant.


• 4:21 p.m. Tuesday, 400 N. Poplar, Ottawa, Ethan Leach 30, homeless, was arrested on three Franklin County probation violation warrants following a traffic stop.


• 11:52 p.m. Tuesday, 302 N. Locust, Anthony Catanzaro, 19, Ottawa, was arrested on a Franklin County failure to appear warrant.


• 10:13 p.m. Wednesday, 100 block of Virginia Road, Kristina Saunders, 29, Ottawa, was arrested in connection with driving under the influence.


Accidents


• 3:30 a.m. Monday, 1300 block of John Brown Road, Lindsey Likes, 36, Melvern, was driving west in a 2010 Ford Focus when she struck a deer that entered the roadway.


• 6:25 a.m. Wednesday, 1500 Block of Interstate 35, Brandon Ruby, 35, Williamsburg was traveling north in his 2004 Saturn Ion when he struck a deer that had entered the roadway.


• 4:40 p.m. Wednesday, 2739 Greenwood Drive, unit 1, was parked and unoccupied. Subjects were attempting to offload a skid steer. The weight of the vehicle shifted and the truck and trailer rolled down a hill. Shelinda Bowers, of Spring Hill, attempted to jump into the truck to try and apply the brakes. She was unable to do so and the truck overturned in the driveway directly west of 2739 Greenwood Drive.


Incidents


• 8:38 a.m. July 18, 4400 block Interstate 35, Wellsville, Ryan Landes, 35, Roeland Park, reported that Anthony Evans, 54, Rantoul, pointed a firearm at him as they were traveling south on Interstate 35. This is believed to have taken place in Miami County. A report is being forwarded to Miami County.


• 10:38 a.m. Monday, 1700 block of Sand Creek Road, a 1-year-old Ottawa boy was taken into police protective custody after a home visit by the Department for Children and Families.


• 2:10 p.m. Monday, 400 block of Monroe Street, Pomona, a 16-year-old Pomona girl reported an unknown person called her from a blocked number making threats.


• 4:30 p.m. Monday, 4500 block of US-59 highway, a 36-year-old Ottawa woman was stopped after a short pursuit after being called in as a suicidal person. She was transported to Advent Health in Ottawa for a possible overdose. A report for driving under the influence is being forwarded to the county attorney’s office.


Thefts


• 7:11 a.m. July 18, 3319 Colorado Road Pomona, a 60-year-old Pomona man reported a past burglary at this residence. Several items were taken with an estimated value $1265.


• 9:54 a.m. Monday, 2700 block of Kingman Road, an 83-year-old Ottawa man reported the theft of car parts from his property. The parts were returned by the known subject.


• 4:17 p.m. Tuesday, 4600 Reno Road, a 73-year-old Wellsville man reported the theft of political signs from a field. Total loss approximately $79.

Arrests


• 2:22 p.m. Sunday, 700 block of S. Lincoln, Ernest Ingram, 39, Ottawa, was arrested in connection with domestic battery, interference with law enforcement.


• 6:01 a.m. Monday, 400 W. 3rd Street, Ottawa, Michael Shaw, 34, Ottawa, was arrested for an active City of Ottawa warrant.


• 1:11 p.m. Tuesday, 100 W. 2nd Street, Ottawa, Dacoda Laudan, 20, Ottawa, was arrested for an active city of Ottawa warrant.


• 1:58 p.m. Tuesday, 200 S. Ash Street, Ottawa, Darren Jones, 26, homeless, was arrested on an active Franklin County warrant.


• 5:47 p.m. Tuesday, 200 W. 3rd Street, Ottawa, Dalton Oshel, 24, Ottawa, was arrested in connection with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended after being stopped for a traffic infraction. Oshel was released on a notice to appear.


Accidents


• 3:07 p.m. Tuesday, 2100 S. Princeton Circle Drive, Ottawa, Patricia Bruce, 79, Garnett, was driving a 2009 Ford Edge and was struck by a 2017 Toyota Tundra driven by Michael Mourek, 44, Ottawa. Bruce complained of minor injures and was treated and released at the scene. Bruce was cited for disobeying a traffic signal. Mourek was cited for driving while suspended.

• 4:44 p.m. Sunday, 1000 N. Davis Ave, a 69-year-old Ottawa man reported past criminal damage to property by unknown persons.


• 5:38 p.m. Sunday, 715 W. 2nd (Ottawa Police Department), a 31-year-old Ottawa woman reported she was the victim of breach of privacy by a known suspect. Case is under investigation.


• 8:45 p.m. Sunday, 300 South Main Street, Ottawa, a 29-year-old Ottawa woman reported being threatened by a known 23-year-old Ottawa man. Case is under investigation.


• 11:47 p.m. Sunday, 2331 S. Cedar Street, a 22-year-old Ottawa woman reported a sex offense. Case is under investigation.


Thefts


• 2:10 p.m. Sunday, 900 block of S. Willow, Ottawa, an Ottawa woman reported the theft of a license plate by unknown person.


• 5:47 p.m. Sunday, 2301 E. Logan Street (Ike and Mike’s), a 69-year-old Ottawa man reported an unknown subject stole items from the storage unit area.


• 7:59 a.m. Monday, 600 block of S. Main, Ottawa, a 68-year-old Ottawa woman reported the theft of items overnight.


• 5:32 p.m. Monday, 2101 S. Princeton (Walmart Supercenter), a 25-year-old Ottawa woman reported the theft of a vehicle. Case is under investigation.


• 10:50 p.m. Tuesday, 600 S. Main Street, Ottawa, a 68-year-old Ottawa woman reported a past theft.
