Charles Raymond Heck, 96, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away April 30, 2019, at Baldwin Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Baldwin City, Kansas.
Charles has been cremated and no services are planned at this time. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg, Kansas. Condolences may be sent to the family through www.lamb-roberts.com.
He was born Nov. 25, 1922, in Emporia, Kansas, the only child of Ray Heck and Myram (McMullen) Heck. He grew up in Quenemo, Kansas, and graduated from Quenemo High School. Charles was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country during the World War II until his honorable discharge. Charles worked various jobs over the years, retiring as a custodian for USD 290. He enjoyed riding his bike and playing his harmonica in his spare time.
On April 20, 1946, Charles married Fleta Butter in Olathe, Kansas. She preceded him in death in 2011.
He is survived by his sons; Larry (Janis) Heck, Ottawa, Kansas; Jake Heck, Lawrence, Kansas; daughters, Rosemary (Tim) Bien, Pomona; Deloris Mavity, Ottawa, Kansas; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
