Chuck Hoopes, Kansas City, Missouri, died peacefully at Kansas City Hospice, North Kansas City, May 5, 2020.
Memorial services in Kansas City and Ottawa, KS are to be at a later date.
Chuck was born to Arthur Hoopes and Ruth (Baker) Hoopes July 6, 1938, in Pomona, Kansas.
Chuck attended Ottawa High School graduating in 1956, He was a dispatcher for Consolidated Freightways Trucking for 37 years until his retirement and then transported vehicles for Budget Rental Car for a short time. During those years Chuck enjoyed fishing, camping, tinkering on cars, being a Boy Scout leader and Tribesman with the Tribe of Mic O Say, as well as "Urban Farming".
He is survived by his wife of 61 years ,Louann (Lowrance); sister, Annabel Burgess; brother, Leonard Hoopes; daughter, Valerie (John) Healy; son, Ronald Hoopes; daughter, Vicki Lindsay; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
