Ottawa - Lowell "Gene" Farr, 80, of Ottawa, KS passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021 at his home in Ottawa, KS.

He was born November 28, 1940 in Ottawa, KS. He grew up and graduated from Osage City High School in Osage City, KS. He attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business.

Gene served our country in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964. He later served in the Air National Guard in Topeka.

He married Doris Muller on March 17, 1987 in Lawrence, KS. They shared over thirty-four years of marriage.

Gene worked as an Electrical Engineer for Raytheon and was relocated throughout the United States. He later retired and moved to Ottawa, KS in 2017 where he and his wife have resided since.

Gene loved flying airplanes. His Flight Instructor was Chuck LeMaster of Ottawa, KS. He also enjoyed restoring a boat that he and his wife purchased. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing.

Mr. Farr was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Doris of the home; and a daughter, Dr. Kim Hermrickhouse and husband Rick of Olathe, KS.

Memorial services will be held 12:30 p.m., Wednesday,November 10, 2021 at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS with military honors by the United States Army National Guard.
