Dorothy May Brecheisen, 79, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2020, at her home east of Lyndon, Kansas.
Funeral services for Dorothy will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20 at the Mt. Pleasant Community Church, southeast of Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Vassar Cemetery. She was born on April 21, 1941 in Quenemo, Kansas, the daughter of Ben and Elizabeth Garvin Lewis.
Dorothy grew up in Quenemo and had lived east of Lyndon for the past 64 years.
Dorothy was a homemaker, worked alongside her husband on the farm, worked in food service and for the past 22 years as she owned and operated Breck’s Green Acres near Pomona Lake. She was a member of the Vassar United Methodist Church and attended the Mt. Pleasant Community Church.
On May 25, 1956, Dorothy was married to Danny Brecheisen in Lyndon.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Danny, on Dec. 10, 2002; by a daughter, Patty Brecheisen; by her parents, Ben and Elizabeth; her four brothers, Earl Dean Lewis, George Lewis, Joe Lewis and Dale Lee Lewis; by a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Randy (Delinda) Brecheisen, of El Dorado; Steve (Raylene) Brecheisen, of Vassar; her four daughters, Sandy Glenn, of Lyndon; Cheryl Brecheisen, of Scranton; Charlene Brecheisen, of Lyndon; Marsha (Delbert) Ball, of Vassar; her sister, Lois (Larry) Bulmer, of Ottawa; 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
