Waneta Jean (Peg) Thompson, 89, of Overbrook, Kansas, passed away, Sept. 13, 2020, at Brookside Manor, Overbrook.

She was born March 18, 1931, at Elm Grove, Kansas, east of Ottawa, the only daughter of Robert Harvey Underwood and Daisy May (Brown) Underwood. Peg grew up in the Ottawa area and graduated from Princeton High School with the class of 1949.
On May 27, 1950, Peg was united in marriage to Robert Earl Thompson in Kansas City, Kansas. They lovingly spent their lives together until the death of Robert on Jan. 19, 1999.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cynthia Lee Wilcox; and a granddaughter, Nicole Ray Thompson.
Peg is survived by four sons, Tommy Thompson and his wife, Oma, Ottawa, Kansas; Robert Thompson and his wife, Mary, Ottawa, Kansas; James Thompson, Osage City, Kansas; John Thompson, Osage City, Kansas; son-n-law, Carl Wilcox, St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
