Ivan Lynn Long, 87, of Lamar, Missouri, passed away Nov. 21, 2020, at his home, with his family by his side.
Graveside service was conducted on Nov. 25, 2020, with military honors provided by VFW Post No. 3691 at the Memory Gardens Cementary, Lamar, Missouri.
Ivan was born April 8, 1933, in Ottawa, Kansas, to Russell Clifford and Bertha “Faye” (Lovitt) Long. van graduated from Ottawa High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy From 1951 to 1955 in the Korean War.
On April 21, 1956, he married Donna Jean (Douglass) in Philomath, Oregon, and together they raised two children.
Ivan was a heavy machine operator in the construction business, working for several noted companies in the state of Oregon. He loved to go to the Barton Country Sr. Center (Lamar) to play dominnoes and helping around the shop at Bennett Construction in Lamar. He and Donna were longtime members of the first Christian Church of Lamar.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years; a son, Clayton Long, of Philomath, Oregon; a daughter, Sheri (Dan) McWilliams, Lanar, Missouri; three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 13 grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
Preceding Ivan in death were his parents and a brother, Daryl Long.
